This Road-side pub has been owned by Ronny for 4 decades and you will still find him there with his platted ponytail and long white beard. The name Ronnies Sex Shop was Ronnies shop where he in the 1970’s decided to open a farm stall to sell fruit and Veggies to weary traveller’s till one day when he asked some mates to look after his shop while he was away and they decided to pull a prank on him and paint the word Sex on the wall !
Ronnie was not happy but then his friends suggested he open a Roadside Pub. Ronnie loved the idea and converted the farm stall into a fully stocked bar and served coffee in the morning and drinks at night, Hanging above the bar now are bras and underwear, t-shirts and caps all signed , as memories left by traveller’s from all around the globe on their pilgrimage to Ronnie’s.
Today, nearly four decades later, Ronnie still runs the bar. The interior of the bar’s white building is covered from wall to wall in graffiti with personal sex stories of its visitors, with “I had sex here” written on one of the benches. Home to road trippers and motorcyclists from around the world (as well as a handful of local farmers and locals from Barrydale, The road kill café makes amazing milkshakes and Burgers but not with roadkill !
